Haines Fourth of July Events Cancelled within the City Limits
The City of Haines has been receiving correspondence from concerned citizens questioning why the City is allowing the Fourth of July events during the Covid-19 pandemic and the recent outbreak in the area. The City is not hosting the Fourth of July events or any other event within the City limits of Haines this year due to the Covid-19 situation. The City has also been receiving comments concerning why the City is not hosting the Fourth of July events. The City is unable to host any events within the City limits due to the current restrictions that are in place. The City has no control over the restrictions. The Haines Stampede Rodeo is hosted by the Haines Stampede Rodeo Association (a private organization) on their private property. The Fireworks is hosted by the Friends of Haines (a private organization) on private property. No events will be hosted by the City within the Haines City limits until the restrictions are lifted. The City has no control over any events that take place outside the City limits. Let us all stay healthy and look forward to next year’s events.
